A striking Danish Modern coffee table designed by Tue Poulsen for Haslev Møbelsnedkeri, Denmark, dating from the 1960s/1970s.

The square table combines a warm-toned wooden frame with an exceptionally decorative handcrafted ceramic tile top by Tue Poulsen. The surface is composed of individually decorated tiles featuring abstract geometric compositions, radiating circular motifs and linear patterns in earthy shades of brown, ochre, cream and muted green.

The graphic ceramic top is beautifully contrasted by the clean architectural wooden base. Fine brass-coloured inlay details running horizontally around the frame provide an elegant additional accent.

The original label underneath reads “Keramik af Tue Poulsen – Haslev”, confirming the attribution.

An excellent example of Danish mid-century design, combining cabinetmaking with studio ceramics. Its relatively compact square format makes it particularly versatile as a coffee table, occasional table or large side table.
